Daredevil: Behind the Art

Screening meets street art warehouse party

THE BRIEF

Disney+ and Marvel Television were bringing Daredevil back and needed a social-forward launch event that would generate content authentically reflecting the series’ gritty, street-level tone.

THE INSIGHT

The previous Daredevil series on Netflix was gritty and violent. Conscious of their family friendly reputation, wanted to make it clear that they would go even further. Street art gave us a powerful visual motif that communicated grit while being inherently photographic and social.

THE BIG IDEA

An immersive event, designed as content engine centred around street art, set in at a gritty artist warehouse party

THE EXPERIENCE

Guests began the evening at Rich Mix, an independent cinema in the heart of East London, for a screening of Daredevil: Born Again.
From there, the night moved to a Shoreditch railway arch for the artist warehouse party straight out of Hell’s Kitchen. Guests arrived to a large-scale Daredevil: Born Again mural and settled into the space with paint can cocktails, elevated American diner food, and a raw artist rave DJ set driving the atmosphere.

Next door in the second arch, guests became the artists themselves. Working with coaches from Street Art London, they learned the basics of street art technique before creating their own Daredevil-inspired murals. They also designed and screen printed custom tote bags to take home, each one a one-of-a-kind piece from the night.

The event was produced in close partnership with the RNIB to ensure full accessibility for visually impaired guests. With Daredevil being one of the few mainstream superheroes who is blind, this felt less like a compliance exercise and more like a genuine commitment to an audience for whom the character carries particular personal meaning.
