THE BRIEF
U&Drama needed to create a cultural moment around the launch of Outrageous – a drama inspired by the Mitford sisters – that would penetrate fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment media simultaneously. The dream goal was coverage in Vogue.
THE INSIGHT
UKTV had a reputation for cosy crime. Outrageous was a stylish and sexy period drama. The event had to capture this 1930’s high stakes high fashion subculture.
THE BIG IDEA
Take guests from the familiar 20’s to the 30’s and all the excitement and volatility of this new era.
THE EXPERIENCE
The Fashion Breakfast
In collaboration with Ghost, the series’ costume designer hosted an intimate discussion on 1930s fashion. Editorial, fashion-native, with a contemporary fashion label.
The Influencer Drop-In
Afternoon activation designed for content capture: curated activities for creators to step into Mitford-era glamour. With different activations including learning 30’s dance, cocktail making and card games.
The Red Carpet Premiere
Cinematic premiere at Picturehouse with a red carpet and press pool for cast, including series stars Bessie Carter and James Purefoy. The premiere itself featured a screening of the series first episode followed by a Q&A with Purefoy and series creator Sarah Williams.
The Outrageous Afterparty
A raucous 1930s soirée: music, cocktails, surprise burlesque performance and unapologetic revelry until late.
